Dr. Moran Bercovici
He is the founding director of the Fluidic Technologies Laboratory in the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering at the Technion – Israel Institute of Technology, and currently a tenured professor there. His research focuses on microfluidics, optical manufacturing, lab-on-a-chip diagnostics, biomolecular detection, high-speed microstructure forming, and space manufacturing technologies. He has had a profound impact on microfluidics and fluid-mechanics–based applications, pioneering the Fluidic Shaping technique—which uses the physics of liquids to shape fluid volumes into optical components (such as lenses). This method has been demonstrated in zero-gravity flights and on the International Space Station.
